Designed as an everyday utility board to semi-step up. A great travel board, that can handle some size, and a wide variety of conditions. The target surfer for this board is once again, the guy who tends to rides wider, thicker, high volume, relaxed rocker boards in small, daily surf...and struggles to find a suitable board for bigger, better, or more challenging days. Very well suited for solid East Coast hurricane and winter swells, crowded head high beach breaks, long winding points and really excels in strong offshore winds, or choppy, windy conditions.

Best board I’ve had for years

I def felt I fit the demographic the bio for this board said. Middle aged guy who generally rides hybrid fish but can’t find a step up for when the waves are good.

I had wanted something for years but never saw anything that really grabbed me. I’d seen the retro online then when I saw it in the shop I literally bought it on the spot. It’s outline is similar to other boards but the way it stacks the volume up from but keeps the rails low and the tail is super refined.

Anyway first couple of surfs I felt it was too responsive and I couldn’t “feel” it through turns and the arc of the turn always took me by surprise. I was a bit unsure about it. Then I put some Large Al Merrick fins in and it went from 5 to a 10. Seriously the best board I’ve had in a long time. Surfed at the points in about solid 5ft drainers and didn’t miss a beat. Super responsive but holds true. It actually been great to get back on a more responsive board other than the alternative shapes
