Goldie PU
The Goldie PU is Channel Islands’ most trusted heavy-wave specialist – built for high-speed commitment when the stakes are sky high. First unveiled under Barron Mamiya at the 2024 Pipe Pro, the Goldie carried him to back-to-back wins at Pipeline, proving itself in the world’s most critical conditions. Designed to get in early and hold your line deep, this board is all about confidence under pressure.
With volume packed forward for paddling power and a refined tail for stability and control, the Goldie hits the sweet spot between the Happy Traveler and CI Pro Step Up. More rocker than the former, less than the latter – it’s tuned for steep takeoffs, fast barrels, and heavy water performance from Hawaii to West Oz.
The Channel Islands' Goldie has;
- Extra foam under the chest for increased paddle power and early entry
- Refined tail foil for control and precision when things get critical
- Balanced rocker curve – more than a Happy Traveller, less than a Pro Step-Up
Tested and refined by Barron Mamiya on the WSL’s heaviest proving grounds. Tuned for speed and hold in steep, down-the-line barrels. The Goldie is best ridden as a step-up – start around 2 inches longer than your standard shortboard. For most surfers, that puts it in the 6'2" to 6'8" zone. Barron Mamiya’s go-to Pipe dimensions: 6'3 x 19 x 2 ½.
If the Goldie sounds like your ticket to charging heavier surf, but you're after something more suited to everyday travel conditions with a touch more versatility, check out the Happy Traveler – a reliable step-up that’s a little more forgiving and wave-range friendly.
