Phantom 2
Complete your Pyzel Phantom 2 setup
Most of your surfing happens in everyday waves, from waist-high runners to the odd overhead session, and you want one board that handles all of it. The Pyzel Phantom 2 is a daily driver with a high performance edge, built for surfers who want speed and paddle power without giving up performance feel. It is the board that does most of the work in your quiver.
The Phantom 2 is the newest member of Pyzel's Ghost Family and an update of one of its most popular daily drivers. Pyzel refined the original design to improve its best traits: speed, paddle power, stability and manoeuvrability. At the end of the process they made one for John John Florence, and his feedback was simple: "This board is really fun, I really like it!"
This is the squash tail version. Its hip squash outline is the biggest change from the original Phantom, letting you surf more pivotally and draw tighter turns.
Key Features
- Ghost rocker base with increased nose rocker through the last 12".
- Deep single concave that flattens the rocker through the centre.
- Fuller, more parallel outline with width carried in the nose and tail.
- Hip squash tail.
- Soft, forgiving medium/full rails, gently tapered.
- Volume carried through the chest without excess overall thickness.
- Thruster setup, available in FCS II or Futures.
Benefits of the Pyzel Phantom 2 Surfboard
- Make later, steeper take-offs with the added nose rocker.
- Create lift, speed and flow from the single concave without losing overall performance.
- Hold speed through slower sections and tight turns thanks to the fuller outline.
- Surf more pivotally, with tighter radius turns than the original Phantom, through the hip squash.
- Get float and speed from the rails without losing sensitivity.
- Paddle into waves easily with the volume carried through the chest.

If You Are Comparing Models
Choose the Phantom 2 squash tail when you want the more pivotal, tighter-turning feel Pyzel designed the hip squash for. If you prefer a round tail, the Pyzel Phantom 2 Round Tail is the same model with Pyzel's round tail option.
Coming off the original Phantom? The Phantom 2 keeps the Ghost rocker base but adds nose rocker in the last 12" and swaps to a hip squash for tighter turns. Explore our Daily Driver Surfboards to compare other boards for your regular sessions.
Complete Your Setup
Choose Performance fins to suit your FCS II or Futures thruster setup, a surfboard leash suited to your board length and conditions, a quality tail pad if you use rear-foot traction, and a surfboard bag sized to fit your board.
