The 1980 Retro Pro is one of Mark Richards most popular Retro models. This is the recreation of one of MR's favourite twin fins which was his magic contest board and originally shaped in 1980.
The outline of this model has plenty of width under the chest up to the nose, making it a dream to paddle. The classic wing-swallow tail shape reduces the surface area in the board's tail, giving it more holding power through turns while the fluted wing adds bite and reduces slide when turning. The deep-V bottom allows the board to flow from rail to rail with ease.
The 1980 Retro Pro is generally an all-around fast, loose, and a 'blast from the past' type of board. The feedback on this model has been extremely positive with everyone elaborating on how well it goes today considering it's a 3-year-old design.
