Single fins lend themselves to a smooth ride with less drag. The surfer can easily pivot off the fin, creating unique lines and allowing creativity. Single fins are great for longer boards like longboards, mid-lengths and alternative shapes.

Twin fins are an exciting layout giving the surfer plenty of speed and manoeuvrability. This is usually due to the fins being placed close to the rail, making it easier to keep the fin engaged. Twin fin surfboards can come in a classic twin fin setup or a versatile twin plus one configuration for added stability.
